Idris Elba Poses With Every James Bond Actor, Sparking 007 Rumors
For over a decade now, rumors have circulated that Idris Elba could, and should, play James Bond. At 53, the actor is probably a bit too old to play a brand new 007, and yet, he's also about the same age Daniel Craig was when the actor filmed No Time to Die (2021). So, will Elba actually play Bond someday? The short answer is probably not, but in the meantime, Elba did get to play with some James Bonds.
At Madame Tussauds in London, on December 19, Elba attended a ceremony in which his wax duplicate was unveiled. This lifelike simularum of Elba is apparently so convincing that the actor was able to fool his phone's face ID, according to Mandatory.
While at Madame Tussauds, Elba also posed with the wax figures of all the previous James Bonds. In a TikTok post, Elba, standing next to the Pierce Brosnan Bond wax figure, dropped the hilarious video, with the caption "wifey made me do it..."
Bond fans were quick to pick up on the post, with several fan accounts, like 007EverythingorNothing, reposting Elba's TikTok to Instagram and X.
Elba's wife is Sabrina Dhowre Elba, and if his caption is to be taken seriously, it sounds like she put him up to the Bond pose. Currently, reports suggest that Denis Villeneuve and MGM+ are looking for an actor in his early 30s to play a new James Bond.
And yet. If there were a larger, expanded Bond cinematic universe, why not let Elba do at least one 007 flick? The people have been asking for him to take on the role forever and a day, and it would be nice to see him in the tux, even if for a limited time.
