Just before Christmas, on a cold winter’s day, the people were tired, with tokens ready to pay. They were bundled in coats, all grouped in a crush. They were standing curbside, away from the slush. When what before their wondering eyes should appear? A red-suited Santa bringing holiday cheer. He pulled to the curb with a great rattle and roar. He opened the door and hailed them aboard.
