Julian Edelman Reacts To Non-DPI Call On Kayshon Boutte In Patriots’ Victory Over Ravens
The Patriots pulled off an incredible 28-24 comeback win against the Baltimore Ravens on “Sunday Night Football”. However, there was a play during the final New England scoring drive that could have been a significant talking point had the game gone the other way.
With under four minutes left in the game, Drake Maye launched a deep pass from the Patriots’ 44-yard line to wide receiver Kayshon Boutte, which would have put New England right in the red zone, but it fell incomplete.
Ravens cornerback Marlon Humphrey was covering Boutte and held onto him a bit too tightly, which should have drawn a penalty for defensive pass interference, but there was no call. Many people were upset with the play, which included former Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman.
“In what world is that not a blatant DPI?” Edelman wrote on X Sunday night.
The Patriots were fortunate that the non-DPI call didn’t cost them the game, as it could have if they hadn’t managed to put together a strong drive.
New England clinched a playoff spot with the win and is now looking to clinch the AFC East in the next two games.
