Travis Kelce in Good Company With Latest NFL Milestone
The Kansas City Chiefs lost another game, but Travis Kelce gained a new career achievement against the Tennessee Titans Sunday afternoon.
Kelce caught only one pass for six yards in the 26-9 loss, but it was enough to give him 803 receiving yards for the season. That makes 12 consecutive years for Kelce in which he's recorded at least 800 receiving yards.
Kelce in rare company with latest feat
Reaching the 800-yard mark in 12 straight seasons is something that has been done by only two players in NFL history: Kelce and the immortal Jerry Rice, who actually broke 1,000 yards receiving in 11 consecutive campaigns for the San Francisco 49ers from 1986-1996.
As Pete Grathoff of the Kansas City Star notes, Kelce and Rice are connected in other ways.
Kelce broke Rice's record for the most postseason pass receptions in NFL history last year, while Rice is first in all-time playoff receiving yards and Kelce is second.

Does Travis Kelce have only two games remaining?
Despite the Kansas City Chiefs already being eliminated from playoff contention, their first postseason miss since 2014, Kelce has committed to playing out the remainder of the schedule. The Chiefs host the Denver Broncos on Christmas before finishing the season against the Las Vegas Raiders on Jan. 4, 2026.
Kelce, 36, has been the subject of retirement rumors for some time now, and even contemplated doing so last offseason.
For now though, the pereniall All-Pro is focused on finishing strong.
“I’d rather keep the focus of the media and everything on this team right now,” Kelce said last week, via Pro Football Talk. “All the conversations I have with the team and everything moving forward will be with them. I think it’s a unique time in my life. Unfortunately I’ve got three games left and I know when the season ends this year. Typically we go into it and we don’t know when it’s going to end and that’s the beauty of it. Just trying to make sure that everybody here knows that I’m focused on trying to win football games, these last three games.”
