Almost 2,000 Pounds of Holiday Sausage Recalled Before Christmas
Holiday season is in full swing, and Christmas is just four days away. Ahead of the big day, the a Portland, Oregon company is recalling a heaping helping of holiday sausages due to potential contamination.
On Friday, the the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced that Olympia Provisions is recalling approximately 1,930 pounds of their ready-to-eat kielbasa because it may be contaminated with metal.
What to know about this recall
The affected sausage was produced on Oct. 14, 2025 and comes in 16-oz. vacuum-sealed plastic packages containing one, fully cooked uncured holiday kielbasa with a “BEST IF USED BY” date of 02/19/26 marked on the side.
The product also has "EST. 39928” printed inside the USDA mark of inspection. You can find images of the sausage here.
The recalled sausages were sold in retail locations in California, Oregon and Washington and to customers nationwide via online ordering. A consumer found metal in the product and notified Olympia Provisions, kickstarting the recall.
As of now, no injury or illnesses have been reported
What to do if you have this product
The FSIS says it is "concerned that some product may be in consumer refrigerators or freezers."
"Consumers who have purchased this product are urged not to consume it. This product should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase," the recall notice says.
