Jake Paul Reveals Brutal Injury Details After Anthony Joshua Fight
Jake Paul lost more than just a boxing match on Friday night. The YouTuber turned pugilist is down a couple of teeth after being knocked out in the sixth-round by former two-time heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua.
Hours after he was sent to the canvas by the 36-year-old Joshua, Paul, 28, revealed he suffered a broken jaw. Later, he shared some additional gruesome details on social media.
Paul underwent surgery to repair injuries
Saturday morning, Paul posted a picture of himself in a hospital bed giving a double thumbs up after having surgery to repair his broken jaw.
The injury required multiple titanium plates and the removal of teeth to fix, he explained.
"Surgery went well thanks for all the love and support. 2 titanium plates on each side. Some teeth removed. Have to have only liquids for 7 days so no doghausdogs :(," Paul wrote.
In a second slide in the post, Paul also posted some imaging of his reconstructed face.
Nakisa Bidarian, CEO of Paul's Most Valuable Promotions enterprise, told reporters that Paul drove himself to the hospital for treatment and is expected to have a recovery time of "four to six weeks."
What's next for Paul?
Despite his loss to Joshua, which was the first time Paul has been knocked out in his brief boxing career, and his cracked jaw, the Cleveland-born fighter made it clear he doesn't intend to be out of the ring very long.
"I'm going to come back and fight people my weight and go for the cruiserweight world championship at some point. I'm going to take a little break," Paul said. "I've been going hard for six years, so I'm going to take some time off."
With the loss, Paul is now 12-2 with seven knockouts as a boxer. He fought twice in 2025, defeating Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. by 10-round unanimous decision back on June 28.
