'Avatar: Fire & Ash' Opening Weekend Box Office Numbers Are In: Find Out How the Movie Is Doing
The opening weekend box office numbers are in for Avatar: Fire and Ash.
James Cameron‘s Avatar: Fire and Ash, the follow up to 2022′s Avatar: The Way of Water, takes audiences back to Pandora in an immersive new adventure with Marine turned Na’vi leader (Sam Worthington), Na’vi warrior (Zoe Saldaña), and the Sully family.
The film stars Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang, Oona Chaplin, Cliff Curtis, Britain Dalton, Trinity Bliss, Jack Champion, Bailey Bass and Kate Winslet, and just hit theaters on December 19.

The movie brought in $88 million at the domestic box office, down from Avatar: The Way of Water‘s $134 million opening.
That being said, Avatar films are known for having long runs at the box office, not so much for their opening weekend hauls. The first Avatar opened to $77 million and eventually climbed to $760 million, per Variety.
The movie also opened to $257 million overseas, bringing its global tally to $345 million so far. The second movie opened to $435 million globally.
The movie cost at least $350 million to produce and even more on marketing. It currently has a 68% Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes with a 91% audience score.
