Sports Briefs: Aguillon hits buzzer-beater to lift San Rafael

Jax Aguillon hit the fadeaway jumper as time expired to lift San Rafael High to a suspenseful 49-47 comeback victory over Lowell in San Francisco on Friday night.

Wyatt Tornello put up 29 points and 10 rebounds for the Bulldogs, while Aguillon had five points and eight rebounds. Rocco Brovelli chipped in six points for San Rafael (6-4).

• Senior Miller Morgan scored a game-high 19 points to lead host San Marin to a 53-46 semifinal victory over Foothill on Friday in the Miustangs Invitational in Novato. The Mustangs came out firing after halftime as senior Jake Beisler hit a pair of 3-pointers and scored eight of his 16 points in the third quarter. San Marin will face Rancho Cotate in the championship game at 4 p.m. Saturday.
• Evan Brewster led Terra Linda with 17 points as the Trojans posted a 66-44 victory over McKinleyville during tournament action in Albany on Friday. Logan Walters added 13 points for the Trojans, who got 12 points from Kaden Martin and 10 from Wes Harrison. Terra Linda (6-2) is scheduled to play in Saturday’s championship game.

Girls basketball

San Marin High fell 44-41 to a tough University squad in San Francisco on Friday. The Mustangs (6-3) are scheduled to play Saint Francis on Saturday in the Galloway Invitational in Hayward.

• San Rafael fell 67-37 to Analy on Friday. The Bulldogs (5-5) are scheduled to play Petaluma on Saturday.
