Last year, Wiz was stopped in the country after he allegedly was caught smoking cannabis on stage during a performance at the Beach, Please! Festival in Costinesti.
The prosecutors said he was found to be in possession of over 18 grams of cannabis and consumed it while on stage.
On Thursday, the rapper was convicted of “possession of dangerous drugs, without right, for personal consumption,” per local news agency Agerpres.
Back in April, Wiz was also issued a criminal fine of 3,600 lei ($830) for “illegal possession of dangerous drugs,” however, prosecutors appealed it for a higher sentence.
AP reports that it’s unclear if Romanian authorities will be seeking to file an extradition request since he is a US citizen and does not live in Romania.
The same month of Wiz‘s drug possession charges in 2024, he also welcomed his first child with girlfriend Aimee Aguilar, his second overall. He shares a son with ex Amber Rose.
