T-Mobile business internet: Everything you need to know about the work-facing ISP

It's hard to go wrong with T-Mobile's affordable prices and premium speeds, which is why we recommend the carrier as one of the best phone plans we've tested. But you're missing out if you don't also explore the carrier's suite of business internet services, which benefit from the same reliable 5G network. In fact, small business owners can join T-Mobile's small business internet for as little $40 with an eligible voice line, plus taxes and fees.

T-Mobile business internet pricing

T-Mobile for business internet is a no-brainer if you want affordable, reliable, and hassle-free internet for your business. If you only need internet and no mobile coverage, plans start at $70 a month (plus taxes and fees). However, you can connect your business for just $40 a month if you pair internet coverage with an eligible voice line, backed by a five-year price guarantee (plus fees and taxes).

The $40 a month rate makes T-Mobile a significantly more affordable option compared to competitors like Verizon, which offers business internet plans starting at $69 a month. But it's not the only incentive to switch. For a limited time, T-Mobile is also offering $300 back via a virtual prepaid Mastercard when you sign up for small business internet paired with an eligible voice line (via prepaid virtual card; allow 10 weeks from submission).

With T-Mobile's business internet, you're not locked into an annual contract, which means you can easily adjust your coverage month-to-month as the needs of your business change or increase. The only thing to note is that if you opt for the $40 a month internet and voice plan, you'll receive the $30 in savings via monthly billing credits, which can take up to two billing cycles to be doled out. If you change the plan or cancel any lines before then, the credits will stop.

Set up and router options

To set up T-Mobile internet for your business, simply enroll in a plan and install a fixed wireless Gateway or router. Depending on the needs of your business, you can choose from T-Mobile's 5G gateway or the more advanced Inseego FX4100 business-grade router.

The 5G Gateway is incredibly easy to install yourself using the T-Life app and backed up by the largest 5G network in the US. It offers high-performance 5G internet and WiFi 7 to support video conferencing, email, streaming, and more at a single location. It also includes both primary and guest WiFi capabilities. You can purchase the 5G Gateway on T-Mobile's website, through a business expert, or in one of T-Mobile's physical stores.

The Gateway device only requires a power cable; you don't need a wall-mounted Ethernet connection. This provides you with excellent placement options for your business, eliminating the clutter of cables. We generally advise placing it close to a window for optimal reception.

The Inseego router is a bit more sophisticated, offering additional advanced network options. For additional costs, you can add on more capabilities, such as professional installation, the ability to remotely manage and configure multiple locations, a static IP, and more. This option is only available via a business expert you can connect with on T-Mobile's website.

FAQs

Is T-Mobile business internet available everywhere?

T-Mobile's business internet is widely available across the country, as the carrier generally has excellent coverage of the US mainland, which is visible on its coverage map. That said, availability and upload speeds may be dependent on the network capacity of your specific location.

What is the fine print of the 5-year price guarantee?

While T-Mobile offers customers a five-year price guarantee on their business internet service, you should be aware of standard caveats. Such as taxes and fees, or additional costs if you opt for any non-mandatory speed or equipment upgrades. You can visit the T-Mobile website for more information.

Future wireless generations, per-use charges, third-party services, and network management practices are also not included in this guarantee.

Remember, though, you are not tied into a contract and can leave at any time. And given that similarly priced WiFi often involves a contract or a guaranteed price increase on monthly charges after your first year, this feels a bit more predictable when establishing the running costs of your business.

Does T-Mobile offer internet for larger businesses?

If T-Mobile's small business internet doesn't meet the connectivity needs of your business, the carrier also offers enterprise, government, and education internet services, which may be a better fit.
