This Bourbon Deal Feels Illegal: Score E.H. Taylor for a Penny!
The more I learn about the history of whiskey, the more I’m fascinated by Colonel Edmund Haynes Taylor.
He was a colorful and innovative 19th-century entrepreneur and distillery owner. Taylor is also one of the folks responsible for how bourbon tastes today. While I was writing my book The Whiskey Bible: A Complete Guide to the World’s Greatest Spirit, I realized just how much influence he had on the American whiskey industry, including his advocacy for the incredibly important Bottled-in-Bond Act of 1897, which created a gold standard for whiskey production.
It’s no wonder that in 2011 Buffalo Trace decided to honor his legacy by introducing the eponymous brand. (His O.F.C. Distillery ultimately evolved into the modern Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort, KY.) E.H. Taylor whiskey quickly became incredibly sought after by whiskey drinkers and ever harder to buy.
Given that it’s the holiday season, starting now and for the next five days, we’re selling one bottle of E.H. Taylor Single Barrel Bourbon for a penny instead of the normal price of $200 on the Men’s Journal Spirit Shop. Here’s the catch: At an undisclosed point each day of the flash sale, the price will drop from $200 to one cent. You need to keep returning to the store to maximize your odds.
While you’re bargain hunting, check out our range of other specials, including deals on everything from High West’s Midwinter Night Dram Act 12 to WhistlePig’s Boss Hog Feather & Flame edition.
