Powerball jackpot up to $1.5 billion after another winless draw
The Powerball jackpot for Saturday’s draw is estimated at $1.5 billion after nobody hit the big prize on Wednesday.
Winning numbers in the Dec. 17 draw were 25, 33, 53, 62, 66 and the Powerball 17.
In California, the closest anybody got was four numbers plus the Powerball, worth $18,887, the state lottery agency said. Across the U.S., two people won $2 million with five numbers and the Power Play — an option offered by some states — and six matched five numbers for $1 million.
The jackpot was last won on Sept. 6, when it was $1.787 billion, the second-largest ever for Powerball. The record prize was $2.04 billion in November 2022, with one winning ticket purchased at a gas station in Altadena.
Powerball draws are Monday, Wednesday and Saturday. Mega Millions, with draws on Tuesday and Friday, currently has a jackpot of $90 million.
