The ‘Survivor 49’ Players Returning for ‘Survivor 50’ Are Finally Revealed
Savannah Louie and Rizo Velovic won’t have much time to recover from Survivor 49 — because they’re already headed right back into the game.
During the finale on Wednesday, Dec. 17, during which Savannah was revealed to be the winner, CBS officially revealed that both castaways will compete on the upcoming milestone season, Survivor 50.
The announcement came as part of the Survivor 50 trailer, which aired following the finale and confirmed that the Atlanta-based former reporter and New York City tech sales guy were selected to return just weeks after their Season 49 run came to an end. While the Survivor 50 cast was announced earlier this year when players departed for Fiji, CBS had not previously disclosed which contestants from Season 49 would be included — a deliberate move to avoid spoiling the outcome of the season.
Savannah and Rizo’s immediate return highlights the impact they made during Survivor 49, where both played prominent roles throughout the game.
Survivor 50, which celebrates the franchise’s landmark 50th season, is set to bring together returning players from across eras of the game. Filmed back-to-back with Season 49, the season raises the stakes even higher for recent castaways like Savannah and Rizo, who will enter the game with very little separation between experiences.
Survivor 50 premieres Wednesday, Feb. 25 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on CBS and Paramount+.
