Bindi Irwin’s Daughter Grace Surprised Her With the Cutest Moment: ‘Endless Giggles’

Kids are unpredictable — it’s just part of their charm! — and you never know how they’re going to behave. Especially if you need them to behave a certain way (e.g., for family photos). Luckily for Bindi Irwin and her husband Chandler Powell, their 4-year-old daughter Grace Warrior surprised them in the best way during a recent photoshoot, and the resulting picture is too cute to miss.

“When you have a four year old, you never know how a family photo is going to turn out,” the wildlife conservationist wrote on Instagram Tuesday. “This one was taken between endless giggles and it makes my heart so happy. ❤️”

The photo features the family of three lying on the grass at Australia Zoo. Irwin and Powell are wearing the classic Steve Irwin khaki, while Grace is dressed in a colorful floral sundress (it is summertime in Australia, after all!). The family is lying on their backs with their heads all touching in the middle. While Grace is smiling just like her parents, she’s also making circles over her eyes like a little bird face. She is so stinkin’ cute, and her impromptu movement made the photo even better.  

Irwin’s mom Terri Irwin commented, “Best moments and memories.????” Her brother Robert Irwin wrote, “Love this you guys.”

Someone else praised them for embracing their kid’s chaos. “Love it! We all did that silly 6 7 trend with Santa for our fam photos. You just gotta join them ????” one person wrote.

“I just love you guys ❤️,” someone else said.

In a 2024 interview with E! News, the Australia Zoo CEO compared her daughter to her late dad, the Crocodile Hunter. “I see so much of dad [in] our beautiful daughter Grace,” she told the outlet. “She has so much fiery, passionate energy about her. She just is a determined woman and she never stops moving. I mean, she’s 3 so she is a very busy girl.”

The proud mom added that her daughter “believes that she runs Australia Zoo.” She explained, “She thinks that it’s her job to make all the make sure all the animals are cared for. She is the kindest and most beautiful soul while also having this fiery energy that’s like dad and I love it. I love it so much.”
