President Donald Trump is making a speech tonight (Wednesday, December 17), and it’s going to interrupt regularly scheduled programming.
The primetime address to the nation will interrupt some fan-favorite TV shows, including the Survivor Season 49 finale. (Here’s how it will be handled.)
“My Fellow Americans: I will be giving an ADDRESS TO THE NATION tomorrow night, LIVE FROM THE WHITE HOUSE, at 9 P.M. EST. I look forward to ‘seeing’ you then. It has been a great year for our Country, and THE BEST IS YET TO COME! PRESIDENT DONALD J. TRUMP” he wrote on Truth Social.

Trump has not yet said what the speech will be about. The White House said his speech “will highlight the administration’s actions during the past year and tease priorities for 2026,” per CNN.
CBS confirmed that it will air a special report of Trump‘s live address at 9 p.m. ET, which will interrupt Survivor.
The finale runs for three hours starting at 8 p.m. ET. It will resume wherever it left off following the Trump speech and will air in its entirety, per CBS.

Now we also know that it is interrupting The Floor, which is airing its season finale at 8 p.m. ET.
Fox will pause the episode and resume after Trump‘s speech, a spokesperson confirmed to USA TODAY.
ABC and NBC are airing holiday programming during primetime, although it’s unclear whether they will interrupt their broadcasts at this time. Stay tuned.
