Gwyneth Paltrow Revealed She's on a 'Mom Group Chat’ & We Need Her to Say More
Imagine being in a group chat with the Gwyneth Paltrow? Apparently, some lucky moms actually are, and we have so many questions about it.
In an appearance on Good Morning America on Monday, the Marty Supreme star revealed that she is actually on several mom group chats. Paltrow was chatting about the now-famous paparazzi shots taken while filming the movie, in which she was kissing co-star Timothée Chalamet for a scene, and how her friends reacted.
“You should have seen my mommy-group chats when the paparazzi pictures came out of us kissing in the park,” Paltrow said. “All the moms were pretty stoked. My British school moms too — yeah, it was like a global event, apparently.”
We are dying to know: who is in Paltrow’s group chat? We know it has to be other A-list celebs, but maybe she also has one with local friends? Moms of her kids’ old school friends? Does she meet friends online that she adds? Is she taking applications?! Also, what else do they talk about? It sounds like they have fairly regular communication if they just casually brought up her famous paparazzi pictures. Oh, if we could be a fly on the wall for one of those group chats!
In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the Goop founder talked again about her new acting role, saying that 40-something women “drive markets” and are “going to be excited about [seeing] a sex scene with Timothée Chalamet.” “And of course women are going to be excited about this idea that there’s agency around sexuality and that older women are sexual,” Paltrow said.
She added that her group chat was “Blowing up. Blow–ing–up!” after the photos came out.Paltrow said, “I have my L.A. mom close friends and my English mummy friends, and they were all texting me. They know I don’t look at any rubbish sites, so they’re all sending me these pictures, like, ‘Yessss, G.P.!’ Everyone was thrilled.”
Two moms she might include in her group chat? Kate Hudson and Reese Witherspoon! In a 2022 interview with the How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days star, Hudson told TODAY that she relies on Paltrow and Witherspoon when dealing with sending a kid to college. “Our kids were in school together, and we both have that moment together,” Hudson said. “When we look at each other, we’re like, ‘How you doin’?’ All three of us ladies, all of our kids went to college at the same time.”
That brings us back to an earlier question — how can we score an invite to the chat?!
