Schreiber will leave the role Jan. 31, 2026, but will continue to serve as a non-executive board member, the global freight booking and payment platform said in a Wednesday (Dec. 17) press release.
The board has begun an executive search, with Freightos Chief Financial Officer Pablo Pinillos set to serve as interim CEO until that search is complete, according to the release.
“With a growing base of thousands of customers worldwide, the time is right for Freightos to have a CEO laser-focused on our next stage of scale-up, while I turn my attention to new adventures,” Schreiber said in the release. “It will be a privilege to continue actively supporting Freightos as a board member, and I can’t wait to see where our outstanding team takes it from here.”
Udo Lange, non-executive chairman of Freightos, said in the release that the company has a strong team and will run a comprehensive search for the next CEO.
“Pablo and the management team are focused on driving value and supporting our customers, employees, partners and shareholders, while ensuring this transition sets the company up to capture the massive opportunities for long-term profitable growth,” Lange said.
Freightos reported in November that during the third quarter, its gross booking value (GBV) jumped 54% year over year to $336 million, while transactions on its platform grew 27% year over year to a record 429,000. That marked the platform’s 23rd consecutive quarter of record transactions.
PYMNTS reported at the time that Freightos still incurs losses, profitability is not yet in sight, and the company must navigate the transition from transaction-achievement to value-creation.
In April, Freightos introduced a new tech product called Freightos Enterprise, saying this unified digital suite for large-volume importers and exporters is designed to simplify and speed up international shipping.
The company said early adopters of this product had seen a 20% reduction in freight spending thanks to data-backed negotiations and an 80% decrease in email communications related to quoting and booking.
