Patrick Mahomes Successfully Undergoes Surgery for Torn ACL During Sunday's Game
Patrick Mahomes has already completed surgery following an injury towards the end of Sunday’s (December 14) Chiefs game.
The 30-year-old athlete went down with a left knee injury during the game against the Chargers, and was later revealed to have a torn ACL on his left knee.
Now, the Chiefs have shared a new update, revealing he has undergone surgery and will begin rehab.

“Patrick Mahomes successfully underwent surgery in Dallas this evening with Dr. Dan Cooper to repair the tear in his left ACL. Mahomes will begin his rehab process immediately,” the organization shared on social media on Monday evening (December 15).
Sports insider Ian Rapoport reports that Patrick also tore is LCL, but it shouldn’t affect his recovery time.
According to the Cleveland Clinic, a torn ACL injury can take six to nine months of recovery.
The day before, Patrick tweeted out after the injury and the team’s loss, knocking them out of playoff contention.
“Don’t know why this had to happen. And not going to lie it’s hurts. But all we can do now is Trust in God and attack every single day over and over again. Thank you Chiefs kingdom for always supporting me and for everyone who has reached out and sent prayers. I Will be back stronger than ever ⏰,” he wrote.
