The app allows these merchants to access Temu’s Local Seller Program in more than 30 markets, while managing their product listings, inventory and fulfillment in one place, Temu said in a Monday (Dec. 15) press release.
It provides fast, accurate listings in those markets via one-click product sync; prevents overselling by delivering real-time inventory updates; and facilitates smooth fulfillment with automated order and shipping coordination, according to the release.
The official app is available on the Shopify App Store, and information about selling on Temu is available at the Temu Seller Center, per the release.
“Shopify merchants can now easily reach new customers on our global platform,” a Temu spokesperson said in the release. “This app is part of our efforts to lower barriers and create growth opportunities for businesses worldwide while giving shoppers greater convenience and choice.”
Temu’s parent company, PDD Holdings, said in November that its total revenues increased 9% year over year during the quarter ended Sept. 30.
“In an increasingly competitive environment, we remain steadfast in taking a long-term focus,” PDD Holdings Executive Director and Co-CEO Jiazhen Zhao said in a Nov. 18 earnings release. “As a public platform, we will continue to invest in merchant support initiatives, driving industry upgrades and the sustainable development of the platform in the long run.”
Shopify said in November that its top-line numbers showed broad strength during the third quarter, with revenue up 32% to $2.84 billion, gross merchandise value up 32% to $92 billion, operating income at $343 million and net income at $264 million.
“We build. We ship. We grow,” Shopify President Harley Finkelstein said during a Nov. 4 earnings call, highlighting merchant wins from startups to global brands and noting that a new entrepreneur makes a first sale on Shopify every 26 seconds. Shopify said it now supports “millions of businesses” across more than 175 countries.
On Thursday (Dec. 11), Shopify introduced a feature called Agentic Storefronts that lets merchants publish their catalogs to artificial intelligence platforms so that shoppers can ask questions, compare items and complete purchases in a single thread.
