‘Multiple’ Suspects Break Into Star NFL Player’s Home
One of the best defensive players in the NFL recorded seven tackles, a sack and a forced fumble on Sunday, but while he helped his team on the road, a group of burglars appeared to break into his home.
Tennessee Titans star defensive lineman Jeffery Simmons' home was burglarized on Sunday, just as the team played in Santa Clara, California against the San Francisco 49ers.

"Team security is actively working with Metro Nashville Police Department to recover items stolen from Jeff Simmons' house," the team said in a statement. "No residents were home during the burglary."
Burglars Broke In While Simmons Was Away
The Metro Nashville Police Department says that the burglary took place at around 7 PM local time, as "at least six suspects entered after smashing out window glass." The police say multiple items were taken from the player's house as a result of the break-in.
Simmons called the authorities when he returned home from California early on Monday morning. He showed some of the damage from the break-in on an Instagram story, and asked "What if any of my family members was in my house??"
"All that materialistic [expletive] you can have but this is crazy!"
In a formal statement on Monday, Simmons expressed his gratitude to the police department for their "professionalism and swift response" to the break-in.
"Their dedication to ensuring the safety of our entire Nashville community does not go unnoticed," the three-time Pro Bowler said. "I remain thankful for God's protection and grace."
String of Athlete Break-Ins Across Sports
Simmons is the latest athlete to have their home broken into, following Cleveland Browns quarterback Shedeur Sanders and Kansas City Chiefs stars Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce.
Sanders' home was broken into this season while he played on the road in Baltimore, and Kelce and Mahomes' houses were burglarized during a road game last season. Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow was also the victim of a break in, as well as reigning NBA MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.
Simmons also caught a one-yard touchdown pass in Sunday's game from rookie quarterback Cam Ward. It was the second receiving touchdown of his career, following a catch in a 2023 game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
The Titans are 2-12 this season after Sunday's 37-24 loss to the 49ers. They'll face the Kansas City Chiefs, New Orleans Saints and Jacksonville Jaguars in their last three games of the season, looking to avoid finishing with the league's worst record for the second straight season.
