Adult Site Reveals Surprising Stat About Its Female Users
Adult video site Pornhub revealed a surprising statistic about female users in its annual Year in Review report.
According to Pornhub, North American female users have surged on the site in the last decade. This year, female users made up a larger-than-expected 38 percent of total users on the video platform, which represents a 14 percent increase since 2015. In the U.S., 28 percent of all searches on the site come from women.
“Over the last decade, our statisticians have been tracing the proportion of female visitors to Pornhub,” the company said. “They have noticed an upward trend over the years, putting into question the dated umbrella statement: ‘It’s only men who watch porn.'”
Outside of the United States, women are representing more and more of Pornhub’s client base. In Mexico, viewership is nearly split down the middle, with women comprising 48 percent of the site’s users. In Argentina, Colombia, and the Phillipines, female users now outnumber male users.
Most Popular Search Terms Were Also Revealed
In its annual report, Pornhub also revealed the states which spent the longest and shortest periods of time on the website. Taking the top spot was Alaska, where users spent a relatively luxurious 11 minutes and 48 seconds per visit. Spending the least amount of time were users in Louisiana, where the average visit lasted just eight minutes and 52 seconds.
And though Pornhub has been blocked in several North American territories, such as Florida and Texas, the site released its most popular search terms by state for those that still have access. Many of the phrases are unprintable, but “thicc” was an exceedingly popular search term amongst users in Louisiana, and the term “furry” saw significantly less traffic in 2025 than in previous years. “Latina” was the most popular search term in America throughout 2025.
