Bulgarian man killed in Paphos accident
A 23-year-old man from Bulgaria was killed in an accident on Sunday in Paphos.
According to the police, the man – identified at Petko Svetlozar – was riding his motorcycle when he collided with a car at the traffic light junction of Tassos Papadopoulos avenue and Andreas Vlamis street.
The car was being driven by a 41-year-old man, with a 45-year-old woman as passenger.
Svetlozar was taken to Paphos general hospital by ambulance. The female passenger of the car was also taken to hospital by ambulance and shortly afterwards discharged.
The 41-year-old car driver was arrested and later found to be in Cyprus illegally. He was also found positive in a drug test, but negative in an alcotest.
Police investigations are ongoing.
