TeamTalk is now reporting that Tottenham Hotspur are showing interest in Jadiel Pereira da Gama of PEC Zwolle, a name that is beginning to gain traction quickly across recruitment departments.
The 15-year-old defensive midfielder is already featuring in first-team football, an unusual marker at that age and one that has heightened his reputation as a standout talent within his age group.
Tottenham, however, are not alone in monitoring his progress, with Chelsea and Manchester City also reported to be leading the chase for Pereira da Gama, placing Spurs firmly in a competitive three-way tussle for the Dutch youngster.
Spurs midfield planning points towards future succession
Spurs currently have Rodrigo Bentancur and Joao Palhinha operating as defensive midfield options, but their respective profiles mean long-term succession planning is inevitable rather than optional.
Palhinha, who is 30, is not a long-term solution at the base of midfield, and the presence of a younger player learning alongside him could allow Tottenham to transition smoothly when the time comes.
Yves Bissouma’s future also remains uncertain, leaving further question marks around that pivot role, and targeting a high-upside youngster now could ease the eventual refresh of Tottenham’s midfield core.
