Rock star’s online auction to benefit Novato nonprofit
Steve Perry, former frontman of rock band Journey and one-time Larkspur resident, is auctioning off a rare collection of personal memorabilia to support Novato’s Gilead House, a nonprofit that supports homeless single mothers and their children.
Items in the auction include Perry’s diamond-certified records, handwritten lyrics, vintage tour merchandise and items personally signed by Perry, including baseball jackets, musical instruments and vinyl test pressings.
“These pieces have been carefully stored for many years, and now I feel it’s the right time to pass them on from my hands to yours, to be enjoyed, remembered and part of your own personal collections,” the singer said in a press release.
Gilead House was founded in 1999 to provide housing, life skills coaching, education support and community support to homeless single mothers. The proceeds from the auction will directly fund Gilead House’s services.
“We are deeply grateful for Steve’s generosity,” Gilead House CEO Carrie Scrimshire said. “These contributions will have a lasting impact on the mothers and children working hard to rebuild their lives. This auction is not only a celebration of music, but of hope.”
The auction ends at noon Dec. 16. For more information or to bid on these items, visit darkivescollectibles.com.
