Wild animal attack deaths in Karnataka: 70% in Mysuru & Malnad; Chamarajanagar highest with 40 deaths
Nearly 70% of human deaths from wild animal attacks in Karnataka since 2022-23 have occurred in seven districts of the old Mysuru and Malnad regions. Chamarajanagar reported the highest casualties with 40 deaths, followed by Kodagu with 32. Farmers are seeking permanent solutions to prevent animals from venturing into agricultural areas.
