Tottenham’s Thomas Frank receives support from Premier League icons who managed almost 2,000 games
Two former Premier League managers have now stepped in to address the Tottenham supporters who called for Thomas Frank to lose his job.
Thomas Frank’s time in north London has already had several ups and downs as the manager tries to navigate his first season in charge.
Despite starting strongly, results in recent weeks, particularly in November, were far from ideal, with Tottenham going the entire month without a win in the Premier League.
Defeats to Fulham, Chelsea and Arsenal only deepened the frustration around the club, and sections of the Tottenham fanbase made their dissatisfaction clear, with some calling for the manager to be shown the door.

Reports claimed that Tottenham were expected to stick with Thomas Frank despite the poor form, and the Dane has since steadied things, with Tottenham securing two wins in their last two games in December so far, leaving them with two wins and a draw this month.
Former Premier League boss Mick McCarthy has now addressed the criticism aimed at Frank, speaking on the Managers Podcast and pushing back on suggestions that the 52-year-old is not the right fit for the club.
He said: “Some of the fans are now criticising Thomas Frank and perhaps suggesting he is not the right fit for Tottenham. Me personally, he has not been there long enough.
“He has got to find his feet, he is a great coach, he is a great guy. I think that is all unwarranted at this moment in time. He should be allowed to get on with his job because I think he is a terrific coach.”
Tony Pulis weighs in on calls for Thomas Frank to be sacked
Spurs fans have often criticised the manager for being too pragmatic in games, but he has since adjusted as he took the brakes off against Brentford and Slavia Prague.
Tony Pulis also weighed in on the situation, and the former Premier League manager echoed similar sentiments when speaking on the same podcast.
Pulis highlighted that managers need time to build, using Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta as a reference point, and stressed that it is unrealistic to judge Frank after only a few months in the job.
He added: “Well I think you look across the road. How long has Arteta been at Arsenal? Five years, six years or whatever. He has been there that period and now they are getting success.
“Thomas has been there a couple of months. It is the instant thing that we always want now in this world that we live in, Mick, for me, it is wrong.
“When I first came in the game, I was told by a very, very experienced manager you need three years to turn a football club around. You need the first year to assess what the club is about.
“You need the second year to get your changes in and to promote it the way you want to promote it. And then the third year, hopefully you get success. If you do not, then you are out. Now three months.”
