Insiders Reveal the ‘Day-To-Day Reality’ That Allegedly Triggered Ellen DeGeneres & Portia de Rossi’s US Move
Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi’s alleged move to the US has everyone talking, asking when they’ll do it, if it’s all just rumors, and why they’re doing it (especially after moving to the UK to avoid the Trump presidency). Well, insiders are revealing the potential “why” of it all, and it’s not too shocking for longtime followers.
In case you missed it, insiders claimed to Star Magazine that the UK has put an alleged strain on their marriage, leaving Rossi bored.
Moving “was a great idea at first. But as time’s dragged on, the day-to-day reality of life in the rainy countryside has gotten frustrating for both of them.” They added, “Both agree it’s time to head back and take care of business.”
Insiders claimed back in Dec 2024 to InTouch Weekly that friends didn’t “see this new arrangement working out in the long term and it looks a lot more like a last resort than a fresh start.” Now, it seems the new arrangement is crumbling, which checks out when fans remember that earlier this year, a Realtor reported that Rossi and DeGeneres pulled one of their LA homes off the market, sparking rumors early on that they might move back to the US, even part-time.
For those who don’t know, DeGeneres and Rossi met back in 2001 at a Rock the Vote concert. However, they didn’t get together until 2004. When they reconnected in 2004, they split with their respective partners, and they started dating. The pair later got engaged, and married in Aug 2008.
After Donald Trump’s victory in the 2024 U.S. presidential election, DeGeneres and Rossi left all of their California properties behind to move to the UK, later confirming the election was the reason why.
