Pulisic given all-clear to join Milan in Torino despite illness concern
Christian Pulisic has been given the all-clear to join the rest of his Milan teammates in Turin ahead of Monday evening’s Serie A clash away against Torino, having initially been left at home through illness.
Pulisic available for Torino vs. Milan
The Rossoberi have an opportunity to jump back to top spot in the Serie A table with a victory away against Torino, who are without a win across their last five league fixtures.
Speaking at his pre-match press conference on Sunday, head coach Massimiliano Allegri revealed that joint-top goalscorer Pulisic was a major doubt for the Torino match due to illness.
Allegri warned that Pulisic was struggling with a fever and that he would not join the group if he was at risk of bringing any other squad or staff member down with him.
“Pulisic had a fever last night, we’ll see tomorrow whether he’s available or not. We won’t take him with us if he’s going to infect everyone,” Allegri said on Sunday.
However, according to updates from Milannews.it, Pulisic’s fever has since cleared up, and he has been given the green light to join the rest of his teammates in Turin.
It remains to be seen whether he will be given the nod as a starter, or whether he will be named among the substitutes to begin with.
Pulisic, along with Rafael Leao, is Milan’s leading goalscorer this term on five goals. Santiago Gimenez is also unavailable for Monday’s clash against Torino, as is midfielder Youssouf Fofana and defender Zachary Athekame.
