Glassy and really small this morning
Update: went for a beach walk around 0930 and could see swell was hitting further up the beach. The dropping tide was delivering shoulder plusses at the lagoon and Longy. But the NE wind was chewing it up.Also Longy bombies were fat and slow even for mals. Hello Friends,
Another tiny day at Dee Why. Tiny, but not flat. Wave faces on sets were getting into the chest-high range, but only rarely. Tide was just coming off the 0715 1.87 high when I grabbed the snaps, so it was as full as it’ll get. Wind was a perfect 4-6 kt westerly (very un-summery), while out at sea the MHL buoy was detecting 2.2 metres at 8 seconds from 182° (dead south) as of 0500. After peaking at nearly 3 metres overnight, the swell energy is fading steadily – in line with the Bureau’s marine forecast.
The weakening trend is set to continue into tomorrow, and then on Friday it looks as though there’ll be a very slight uptick as a little east wind swell wafts in to give us, one hopes, at least a little something on what will be a hot day. With any luck, it’ll be a touch better for Saturday when we’re set to hit 37 C along the beaches.

Weather Situation
Winds should gradually ease and turn northerly as a high pressure system drifts across the state, entering the Tasman Sea midweek. Then, another trough is forecast to enter the state’s far west on Friday ahead of a cold front crossing the state during the weekend, bringing a southerly wind change over coastal waters in its wake.
