Michelle Pfeiffer Reveals the Family-Oriented Reason She’s Stepping Back From Acting
Michelle Pfeiffer has been an on-screen staple for decades, making us laugh, cry, and everything in between. However, come 2026, she’s stepping away from it all, albeit seemingly temporarily. In a recent interview with Fox News Digital, she revealed the reason behind the shocking news: she wants to spend time with her grandchild!
“I am feeling very blessed for the opportunities that are presenting themselves to me and loving the work. I’ve been like working with incredible cast members in all three things that I’ve done recently — great directors, great material,” Pfeiffer started by saying. “However, little did I know my daughter was planning on getting pregnant, which she did successfully. And lo and behold, here I am working a lot.”
She added, “So, I think I’m going to have probably most of next year off, which I’m really looking forward to. Look, it’s an embarrassment of riches, honestly. It’s like, ‘wah.’ I do feel like … I’m just really wanting my choices and the way I spend my time — whatever time I have left — to spend it meaningfully is what I’m focusing on.”
For those who don’t know, Pfeiffer married television writer and producer David E. Kelley in 1993. In March 1993, Pfeiffer adopted a newborn daughter, Claudia Rose, and in 1994, she gave birth to a son, John Henry Kelley II. Claudia welcomed a baby in 2024!
