Kaley Cuoco Gushes About Raising Daughter Matilda Surrounded by Animals
Having a toddler at home is wild enough, but raising a toddler on a farm?! That takes some real strength! Kaley Cuoco opened up about life with her daughter Matilda “Tildy,” 2, who she shares with fiancé Tom Pelphrey, in a home surrounded by animals, and it’s the sweetest — and most chaotic — thing ever.
“There is absolute chaos. This is a traveling circus,” The Big Bang Theory told Us Weekly about living with dogs, horses, cows, goats, and other animals. “We wouldn’t have it any other way.”
She also gushed about her daughter, and how Tildy is already just as obsessed with animals as her mom. “Having your kids grow up with a dog or any animal, I think it’s such a beautiful thing,” Cuoco said. “My child has been so exposed. … She doesn’t even know the difference.”
The Flight Attendant star continued, “She only knows a life of animals around her, and she knows how to treat them. We’ve told her from a young age, ‘We’re gentle. We do this; we don’t do this.’ She’s learned so much already in just her 2 and a half years, so it’s special.”
“I highly recommend raising your kids with animals. I think it’s very important,” Cuoco added. So sweet! And while most of us probably can’t realistically have an entire farm full of animals, it does make us feel better about having our kids around pets.
At the end of the day, Cuoco loves her wild life. “It’s the best,” she continued. “It brings a lot of laughs and a lot of humility and a lot of humbling moments. We take things day by day in this house. [There is a] lot of chores and a lot of dog s***.”
Seriously, what could be better? (Well, maybe not the last part, but still: it’s a good way to teach kids responsibility!) Tildy doesn’t even realize how lucky she has it to live in a real-life petting zoo.
Tildy has been in love with animals since she was a little baby. “[Tildy] is obsessed. What a beautiful thing to raise a kid — she’s only six months — surrounded by animals 24/7,” Cuoco told Entertainment Tonight in 2023. Cuoco added that Tildy would run around the house in her walker, making her parents laugh. “We’re like, ‘Look out, everybody. You’re gonna lose a tail.’”
But the feeling is mutual between Tildy and her animals. “They love her, they kiss her,” Cuoco continued about her pets. “I mean, from week two, they were kissing her on the mouth. I was like, ‘Is this OK?’ And our pediatrician was like, ‘It’s totally fine.’”
“They’re kind of being raised together and it’s so beautiful and very natural, you know?” she added.
These celeb families wouldn’t be complete without their furry friends.
