Andy Reid gives updates on Josh Simmons, Isiah Pacheco ahead of matchup vs. Broncos
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The Chiefs are coming out their bye week refreshed up as they gear up for a monumental AFC West matchup against the Denver Broncos on Sunday.
The Chiefs are looking to bounce back after losing to Buffalo in Week 9. The bye week came at the perfect time for the team, giving them a chance to regroup and get healthy.
Andy Reid spoke on Monday, giving an update on multiple key players ahead of their Week 11 clash.
"We're expecting everybody back, Josh (Simmons) included," Reid said.
Reid did not guarantee Simmons would immediately resume his starting role over Jaylon Moore upon his return.
"We'll just see where we're at here. We know we've got a good player in there now and we know what Josh is capable of. We'll just see where we're at when we get back."
Simmons has missed the last four games after being away from the team to deal with a family matter.
Another offensive lineman who suffered an injury was RT Jawaan Taylor, who injured his ankle vs. the Bills. The outlook for him seems positive as Reid stated he felt better when the Chiefs got back from Buffalo.
Isiah Pacheco missed the game vs. Bills after sustaining an MCL sprain against the Commanders in Week 8. His status for this week's game remains uncertain as Reid gave an indistinct response.
"I'll have to see on Pacheco," Reid simply put it.
The stakes for Sunday's game can't be understated. The Chiefs sit at 5-4, a game out the final playoff spot in the AFC and 2.5 games back of the Broncos in the AFC. A loss would significantly diminish any chance the Chiefs had to win the division and give them minuscule room for error.
