Tottenham Hotspur were forced to dig deep at the weekend as they came from behind to earn a point against Manchester United, with one substitute in particular catching the eye of former England winger Theo Walcott.

It proved to be an inspired substitution that completely shifted the dynamic of the game in Tottenham’s favour.

Wilson Odobert impressed following his introduction, combining brilliantly with Destiny Udogie down the left-hand side and playing a vital role in Tottenham’s second-half turnaround.
The French winger registered an assist for Spurs’ second goal, adding pace and directness to their attack.
Theo Walcott, speaking after the match, was full of praise for Odobert’s display and highlighted his ability to take risks when the team needed inspiration.
Speaking to BBC Sport’s Match of the Day, Walcott said: “Odobert was absolutely outstanding when he came on. A player that has to be able to take risks and play with that freedom with energy, and that is what you have to do as a substitute.
“What I like about him, he likes to put the ball in when you have space. He likes to change his game and not be predictable when you give players who are ball carriers this amount of space.”

Wilson Odobert has gone from strength to strength in a Tottenham shirt, having endured a long-term injury last season under Ange Postecoglou.
The young Frenchman now looks sharp and confident, clearly eager to seize every opportunity that comes his way.
Thomas Frank has experimented on the left wing this season, with Mathys Tel, Brennan Johnson and Richarlison all given chances to impress.
However, Odobert’s recent performances suggest he may now be ahead in that pecking order after contributing a goal and an assist in his last two appearances.
If he maintains this level of performance, he could establish himself as Frank’s preferred option on the left flank, offering the balance of creativity and directness that Tottenham have been missing on that flank.
