Glorious morning with waves for Sydney
Hello Friends,
From the look of it, this morning’s another corker for Sydneysiders. Wave-wise a near-13 second, 1.2 metre SE swell was delivering the occasional chest-high set for riders at magnet spots. Wind was NNW at daybreak, but by 0830 it was 9-13 kts NNE. However, the Bureau says it should be NW 15-20 and then west to SW 20-25 kts this afternoon on what should be a partly cloudy day.
(Today’s snap was taken at Campus Point where a mate of 50+ year’s standing and I went for a paddle. It was almost, but not quite flat so we were able to eke out a few knee-high waves for our trouble. )
The latest swell models are looking reasonable for the morning sessions in coming days, but stay tuned for the Goat’s prognostications…

Weather Situation
A cold front will bring a strong west to southwesterly change today. Winds are expected to turn southerly from Friday as a high pressure system moves across from the west, tending northerly over the weekend as the high moves into the Tasman Sea. The next cold front is expected later Sunday or Monday, which will bring the next southerly change along the coast.

- Southwesterly 15 to 20 knots, reaching up to 30 knots offshore early in the morning. Winds turning south to southeasterly in the early afternoon then tending south to southwesterly in the evening.

- 1.5 to 2.5 metres, decreasing below 1.5 metres around midday, then decreasing to 1 metre by early evening.
- Swell
- Southerly around 1 metre, increasing to 1.5 to 2 metres around midday.
- Weather
- Sunny.

- Southerly 15 to 20 knots turning east to southeasterly 10 to 15 knots during the afternoon then becoming variable below 10 knots during the evening.
