Alleged drunk driver accused of killing man crossing street in Brooklyn: NYPD
BROOKLYN, N.Y. (PIX11) --- An alleged drunk driver is accused of hitting and killing a pedestrian crossing the street in Brooklyn on Thursday, police said.
Winston Reid, 58, was driving a 2011 Ford van when he allegedly struck the man in the crosswalk near Church Avenue and East 55th Street at around 1:15 p.m., according to the NYPD.
The pedestrian was rushed to the hospital but could not be saved, police said. The man has not been identified.
Reid remained at the scene and was arrested and charged with vehicular manslaughter, driving while intoxicated, and driving while ability impaired, police said.
His arraignment was pending Friday.
