Tenant allegedly sets apartment on fire in Emporia
EMPORIA (KSNT) - Police arrested a man in Emporia for allegedly setting a local apartment building on fire.
The City of Emporia reported that fire crews were called around 11:20 p.m. on July 17 to an apartment building in the 130 block of West 12th Avenue. The Emporia Fire Department arrived at the scene and put out a small fire in an apartment on site.
Fire investigators and the Emporia Police Department determined the fire was intentionally set by a tenant at the apartment. Police arrested a 30-year-old tenant for suspicion of aggravated arson with formal charges to be announced later.
