Portland man accused of attempted carjacking at knifepoint in Aloha
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- A Portland man has been arrested and accused of attempting to carjack a woman at knifepoint in Aloha early Thursday evening.
Just after 5 p.m., deputies responded to the 20200 block of Southeast Tualatin Valley Highway after a caller reported a man armed with a knife had assaulted a woman in her vehicle, then left the area on foot.
On arrival, deputies said they found the woman uninjured, then began tracking the suspect with help from a Beaverton Police K9.
After being alerted to his location by a community member, deputies found and arrested the suspect, identified as 33-year-old Jose Campos of Portland.
Campos was booked into the Washington County Jail on charges of first-degree robbery, unlawful use of a weapon, attempted unlawful entry into a motor vehicle, menacing, as well as two outstanding warrants out of Multnomah County.
