PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- The southbound side of the Interstate Bridge was blocked for around an hour Friday morning after a crash.

According to the Washington Department of Transportation, the crash happened near milepost 0 and blocked all southbound lanes just after 9:45 a.m.

At around 10:20 a.m. WSDOT said there was a two-mile backup reaching all the way to Exit 2 at 39th Street.

Shortly before 11 a.m., the lanes began reopening as the crash was cleared.

Officials warn drivers to expect delays and to be patient as traffic moves slowly through the area.
