AFRO-fusion musician Lindsay ‘Chamangurangura’ Munyikwa is over the moon after being invited to perform in the United Kingdom on music legend Dr Thomas ‘Mukanya’ Mapfumo’s farewell show.
Lindsay will be part of the supporting acts alongside Kurai Makore, Tocky Vibes, Selmor Mtukudzi, and many others on 23 August when Mukanya performs his last-ever show in Birmingham, United Kingdom.
In an interview, Lindsay said it is a huge honour to be given an opportunity to share the stage with Mapfumo.
“I am humbled by this huge honour to be part of Mukanya’s farewell show in the UK. For me, it is an opportunity to learn from the legend who has been in the industry for many years.
“I am so excited to be part of the show and I promise all my fans in the United Kingdom a stellar performance they will remember for years to come.
“Mudhara Mapfumo is a legend who has been in the game for many years, so for his farewell show, I have to step up and give a performance that will leave fans clamouring for more,” she said.
Lindsay, who started her music journey in 2014 doing Zim-dancehall, recently released a song called ‘Hakuna’, which was accompanied by its video.
“I have been in the studio in the past few months recording new stuff and I have just released a new single.
“Ever since I shifted from dancehall, I am now appealing to more mature music fans and I hope when I tour the UK next month, I will broaden my fanbase,” she said.
