THE president of the International Preachers Council of Churches, Reverend David Phiri, has praised the H-Metro team for organising the inaugural betting conference in this country.

He said the conference shed light on a number of complex issues affecting the betting industry.

The conference was held at Alex Sports Club and drew a full house of guests.

Reverend Phiri was one of the invited guests.

“The event provided a valuable platform for stakeholders to discuss the complexities of the gaming industry and its impact on society.

“The conference shed light on the need for responsible gaming practices, regulation and rehabilitation.

“I appreciated the diverse perspectives shared by speakers and participants, highlighting the importance of collaboration among industry players, regulators, and community leaders.

“As a spiritual leader, I recognise the significance of addressing the social and moral implications of gaming. The conference reinforced the need for a balanced approach that promotes entertainment while protecting vulnerable individuals.

“The IPC Churches are committed to supporting initiatives that foster responsible gaming and community wellbeing.
