There are multiple reports the deal was done for the loan at €3m, with an option to buy for a further €3m plus €1m in bonuses and a cut of the future fee.
Shomurodov leaves Roma after 4 years
The 30-year-old made the transfer from Genoa to Roma in 2021 for €19.6m and had loan experiences at Spezia and Cagliari.
He leaves after scoring 13 goals with 11 assists in 85 competitive appearances for the Giallorossi, although very few of them were as part of the starting XI.
Last season was one of his most prolific, with seven goals and five assists in 37 official games.
The presentation video released by Istanbul Basaksehir references the fact Shomurodov is the all-time top scorer for Uzbekistan and helped them qualify for the 2026 World Cup, their first ever participation in the tournament.
