To the editor: Family law bill is unbalanced, overreaches
I strongly oppose Senate Bill 174, introduced by Sens. Theresa Gavarone (R., Bowling Green) and Paula Hicks-Hudson (D., Toledo). While I respect their intention to reform family law, S.B. 174 goes too far in shifting power away from parents and concentrating it in the hands of judges. Rather than reducing conflict, this bill risks increasing legal uncertainty, costs, and judicial overreach into private family life.
