Benjamin Netanyahu slams Keir Starmer for ’emboldening Hamas’ after UK calls for ceasefire & aid for Gaza
ISRAEL has turned on Sir Keir Starmer by accusing him of “emboldening Hamas” after the UK demanded an end to their military offensive in Gaza and restrictions to aid.
Benjamin Netanyahu took aim at the Prime Minister along with Canada and France saying they were on the side of “mass murderers, rapists, baby killers and kidnappers”.
He launched the withering attack claiming the countries were not advancing peace following Thursday’s killings on two Israeli embassy workers in the US.
The allies said earlier this week that they will take “concrete actions” unless Netanyahu changes course and saying Israel was risking breaking international law.
But in a video message, the Israel PM said Hamas wants to “destroy the Jewish state” and “annihilate” the Jewish people.
He added: “I could never understand how this simple truth evades the leaders of France, Britain, Canada and others.
“I say to President Macron, Prime Minister Carney and Prime Minister Starmer, when mass murderers, rapists, baby killers and kidnappers thank you, you’re on the wrong side of justice.
“Because by issuing their demand – replete with a threat of sanctions against Israel, against Israel, not Hamas – these three leaders effectively said they want Hamas to remain in power.”
His comments come after two Israeli embassy staff were killed in Washington DC outside the Jewish Museum.
Armed Forces Minister Luke Pollard said he didn’ recognise the comments of the PM emboldening Hamas.
He said: “We condemn the killing of diplomats thoroughly. We want to see a proper investigation – as we would do in all things – to secure justice for those people who have been murdered in the States.
“But we also, at the same time, should not remove ourselves from the need to secure a lasting peace in Gaza… a lasting peace is good for Israel.”

On Tuesday, Keir Starmer suspended trade talks and imposed sanctions on Israel over its Gaza military expansion.
The PM also summoned the country’s ambassador.
It is the Government’s strongest condemnation since the war began after Hamas terrorists invaded Israel in October 2023.
In the Commons, Sir Keir insisted: “We’re horrified by the escalation from Israel.
“The level of suffering, with innocent children being bombed again, is utterly intolerable.”
