Father and his two sons launch tavern-style pizza shop in Upper Arlington
UPPER ARLINGTON, Ohio (WCMH) – A new pizzeria serving tavern-style pies recently opened its doors in Upper Arlington.
UA Pizza began welcoming customers at 3794 Fairlington Dr. last month. The building previously housed another pizzeria, Panzera’s of Upper Arlington, which closed in March after 20 years in the space. The new eatery is run by Robert Eggleton, along with his sons Nick and Chris Eggleton.
“The opportunity and the time was right,” Nick Eggleton said. “I was a general manager for Wendy's before we started this pizza adventure and my dad ... also ran restaurants when he was in his youth.”
The shop serves tavern-style pies, which feature thin crust and square slices. Toasted subs and salads are also on the menu. Dessert options and some additional appetizers are currently in the works, according to Robert Eggleton.
The eatery also has a kiosk inside The Daily Growler, a neighboring bar, allowing customers to order a pizza with their beer.
Along with running the pizza shop, Nick Eggleton is an electrical engineering student at Ohio State University, and Chris Eggleton is a culinary student at Columbus State Community College.
UA Pizza is open from 4:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. daily, with its hours extending to 10 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.
