Traffic alert: Morrison Bridge closures start after Memorial Day for ODOT inspections
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- State transportation officials are asking drivers to start planning ahead for some overnight closures on the Morrison Bridge beginning next Tuesday.
Oregon Department of Transportation inspections will leave parts of the Morrison Bridge and its ramps closed starting May 27.
Closures begin at 10 p.m. and will not reopen until 5 a.m.
On May 27, the southbound Interstate 5 ramp to eastbound Southeast Belmont will close.
Meanwhile, work on the westbound ramps will take place May 28-30.
Any remaining work will be completed on May 30, according to ODOT.
ODOT's regular inspections will continue to take place over the course of the summer, with the next tentative bridge inspections and closures happening on the following days in Portland:
- Marquam Bridge - Southbound I-5 from I-405 to the Marquam Bridge - June 16-20
- Fremont Bridge (I-405) - upper and lower decks on separate nights - July 6-11
- Steel Bridge - daytime lane closures only - July 18-22
