Woman arrested after two-month-old dies from meth toxicity
WAGONER, Okla. (KFOR) - According to the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation, a woman has been arrested after the death of a two-month-old baby.
Officials say the Wagoner County Sheriff's Office requested the OSBI's help regarding a suspicious death investigation on November 27, 2024.
Earlier that day, deputies responded to the Wagoner Community Hospital after a two-month-old child had died. The child had been found unresponsive at a home near East 90th Street North and North 25th Street East in Wagoner. The baby was brought to the hospital by his biological mother, 38-year-old Julie Nail.
A search warrant was served at the home and investigators found a substance that tested positive for methamphetamine.
According to the OSBI, on May 21, 2025, the child's cause of death was determined to be methamphetamine toxicity.
Based on the investigation, Nail was arrested and booked into the Wagoner County Jail on May 22, 2025. She is facing charges of First-Degree Murder, Distribution of Controlled Dangerous Substance and Child Neglect.
The investigation is still ongoing.
