Marvel Studios executive, ‘Black Panther’ producer Nate Moore reportedly joins the ‘Survivor 49’ cast
The official cast list for Survivor 49 won't be officially announced until later, but internet sleuths already think they've uncovered the identity of one famous castaway.
Nate Moore, a former development executive for Marvel Studios, will reportedly compete on the island when the 49th season airs this fall on CBS. The new trailer, released Wednesday night at the end of the Survivor 48 finale, appears to include a blink-and-you-miss-it moment of Moore, age 46, swimming at the 34-second mark.
Gold Derby reached out to CBS for comment, and they told us the entire Season 49 cast will be announced at the same time closer to the premiere date. Watch the video and see the screenshot:
Moore's IMDb film credits include producing work on Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014), Captain America: Civil War (2016), Black Panther (2018), Eternals (2021), Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (2022), and Captain America: Brave New World (2025). He also produced the TV shows Olive and Mocha (2015) and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier (2021).
The executive officially left Marvel Studios in December after 14 years with the company, in order to pursue independent ventures. However, he's still tapped to work on Black Panther 3 with expected director Ryan Coogler.
If the rumors are true, Moore would be the latest well-known figure to join CBS' long-time reality TV show. Other Survivor celebrities have included political podcaster Jon Lovett, football players Brandon Cottom, Danny McCray, and Brad Culpepper, Paralympian Noelle Lambert, Olympian Elizabeth Beisel, hockey player Tom Laidlaw, and actress Lisa Whelchel.
Of course, the most famous person to ever set foot on the island is Mike White, an actor and filmmaker who won three Emmy Awards for producing, writing, and directing The White Lotus. Survivor host Jeff Probst recently said that White is the reason the "economy-based" version of the game involving fire tokens never happened, because White claimed it didn't "sound fun."
On Wednesday, Survivor 48 came to an end with Kyle Fraser claiming the $1 million prize by a jury vote of 5-2-1 over fellow finalists Eva Erickson and Joe Hunter. "This game has pushed me to my limits every single day, but it's exactly what I wanted," the new winner told Probst.
Survivor 49 and Survivor 50 are currently filming back-to-back, with the former airing this fall and the latter airing in early 2026. The 50th season will be the long-awaited all-stars cycle, and it will officially reveal its cast on May 28.
