Frankie Bridge slammed by fans again for SHEER wedding guest dress that’s ‘too much’ and will ‘upstage the bride’

FRANKIE Bridge has been slammed by fans yet again after showing off a sheer dress she plans to wear to her friend’s wedding.

Not only did people warn her not to “upstage the bride”, but others described the red frock as “too much”.

The 36-year-old took to social media to show off two dress options, one of which is the Crinkle Cross Front Georgette Woven Maxi Dress from Karen Millen.

But the jaw-dropping frock, which ranges from a size 6 to a 16, doesn’t come cheap, as it has an eye-watering price tag of £169.

Posting on her ‘Faves’ account, which has been hailed as “your fave destination for shoppable edits”, the TV beauty tried on the floor-length gown, which she styled with a white clutch bag.

The mum-of-two who is married to football legend Wayne Bridge, 44, gave viewers a close-up look at the dress, which according to Karen Millen bosses will ensure you make an “unforgettable entrance.”

But just days after the Saturdays singer was slammed by fans for another another wedding guest outfit option, Frankie said: “I am going to one of my friend’s weddings and I’m trying to decide what to wear – I thought I’d get you to help me.”

Impressed with the halterneck dress which has cross-front detailing, the Loose Women star explained: “Quietly obsessed with this dress because I feel like it’s something I would never normally wear.

“First of all, it’s quite a bright colour and we all know that I love a nude.

“I just love this. It’s not a cape, but I like that whole vibe, it makes me feel really fancy.

“But also, if you don’t like your arms, it’s a really good shape for you. You don’t feel completely covered up.”

Clearly overjoyed with the open back dress, which has been described online as “perfect for weddings, formal galas or black-tie events”, Frankie continued: “It’s subtle, it’s pretty, it’s quite girly.

“It’s sheer, which is a trend at the moment.”

Showing off the layers of the sophisticated dress, which according to the retailer “reflects timeless elegance” and “conveys sophistication while ensuring you stand out for all the right reasons”, the brunette beauty recognised: “A lot of layers, quite a lot going on.

“But I feel like for a whole day at a wedding, it’s really comfortable.”

Moments later, Frankie then tried on another dress, which left her less than impressed.

As she posed in the baby blue dress, which was also sheer and floor-length, the influencer explained: “You know when you think you’re gonna like something you see online and you see it hanging up and you think, ‘oh, she’s cute, she’s different’. No, no.

“I’m gonna have to wear the first one, which I actually like.

“Someone might like [this]. Just not me.”

Wedding Guest Outfit Etiquette

If you're struggling to decided on a dress to see you through wedding season, here's a few rules on what not to wear so you don't get in trouble.

  • Folklore says that wearing red at a wedding means you slept with the groom.
  • Casual attire like jeans and flip flops should always be avoided.
  • Any colour that could be picked up as white or cream – even if it’s not.
  • Most would agree that your cleavage needs to be covered.
  • Wearing white is a massive no-no if you’re not the bride.

Fashion fans react

The TikTok clip, which was posted under the username @favestheedit, has clearly left many open-mouthed, as it has quickly amassed 145,200 views.

Not only this, but it’s also amassed 1,401 likes and 138 comments.

You may get more attention than the bride so be mindful!

But while many fashion fans thought the red dress looked “beautiful” and “stunning”, many advised Frankie to steer clear of wearing it to a wedding

One person said: “I was hoping for a third. The red one is too much going on and doesn’t have much shape, just lots of red material. Second one… immediately no.”

Alongside a crying emoji, another added: “You’ll upstage the bride.”

A third commented: “Personally I wouldn’t wear red to a wedding, nor white or black. It is nice though.”

Meanwhile, someone else warned: “You look stunning in the red dress but you may get more attention than the bride so be mindful!”

At the same time, another woman slammed: “You will stand out in the photos a lot.”
