Racing Returns to Wayne County Speedway – Full Night of Dirt Action Ends with Big Wins

ORRVILLE, OH – The engines came to life again at Wayne County Speedway as fans were treated to a thrilling night of dirt racing across all five weekly divisions. With great weather and a strong turnout, the Speedway delivered a stacked show featuring drama, comebacks, and fierce racing from start to finish.

Pine Tree Towing & Recovery 410 Sprint Cars (25 Laps) Caleb Helms and Jordan Ryan led the field to green, with Ryan taking the early advantage. Danny Mumaw held second and Tyler Street third before a caution came out on lap 5 for a spin by Dylan Kingan.

On lap 9, chaos broke loose as an eight-car pileup brought out a red flag. The incident collected both the leader Ryan and third-place Street, shaking up the running order. Trey Jacobs inherited the lead, with Helms dropping to third but quickly moving back into second after the restart.

Henry Malcuit surged to third on lap 11, but Tyler Gunn charged forward from 8th and claimed the position on lap 18. In the end, Trey Jacobs claimed the victory, with Caleb Helms second and Tyler Gunn third.

Malcuit’s Tavern UMP Late Models (25 Laps) Ryan Markham and J.R. Gentry led the field to green with Kyle Moore quickly moving into second. Larry Bellman claimed third early and engaged in a thrilling battle with Doug Drown through the first half of the race—Bellman using the low line, Drown committed to the top.

On lap 11, Moore executed a slick slide job on Markham to take the lead. A yellow flew on lap 15 for a spinning Josh Tonkin, setting up a final dash to the checkered. Markham reeled Moore back in late, but Moore held steady for the win. Markham was second and Drown rounded out the podium.

The Glass House of Canton Super Stocks (15 Laps) Brandon Craver and Josh Morrow led the charge with Morrow grabbing the early lead. A caution on lap 8 for a Denny Shear spin bunched the field. After the restart, Colton Cook moved into second while Craver took over the top spot.

Josh Morrow exited while running second on lap 11. The race’s final lap brought more drama as Brad Hensel and Denny Shear collided in turn four. Craver survived the chaos and took the win with Cook second and Codee Scheinder third.

Flynn’s Tire & Auto Service UMP Modifieds (20 Laps) Kyle Moore and Eric Wilson started on the front row and ran first and second for the entire event. The battle for third was tight throughout, with Nate Young slicing his way through the field from the tail to grab third by lap 8.

Despite a mid-race caution, the top three held their positions to the finish: Moore took the win, Wilson second, and Young third.

Joyride Transportation Mini Stocks (15 Laps) Anthony Collins and Kyle Petit brought the field to green and quickly formed a breakaway pack with David Potter. The trio looked untouchable until disaster struck on lap 5 when all three collided and were sidelined.

That opened the door for Travis Hutton, Johnny Bruce, and Gene Arkenburg to take over. Hutton and Bruce separated from the field with Bruce glued to Hutton’s bumper over the closing laps. Hutton held on for the win, with Bruce second and Arkenburg third.
