Aldi selling Prosecco for less than a fiver – but you have to be quick as the deal ends TOMORROW
A MAJOR supermarket chain is helping Brits celebrate the May Bank Holiday with cheap drinks.
For one more day only, Aldi has dropped the price of its Prosecco this weekend, to just £4.99 a bottle.
Buying Aldi’s Prosecco Spumante DOC tomorrow can give you a 29 per cent discount off its usual price of £6.99.
The 75cl bottles have been described as “crowd-pleasing fizz”, with “delicate floral aromas” and “vibrant notes of crisp apple and pear”.
It therefore makes it the perfect Prosecco for any Bank Holiday bash for an affordable price.
On top of that, a glass of this sparkling wine is ideal to feel refreshed in the warmer days forecasts.
Aldi was just found to be the cheapest place to buy everyday supermarket essentials for the month of April, according to research by consumer group Which?.
For a basket of 79 of common household essentials, a saving of £48.24 was found to be possible for shoppers at Aldi as compared to Waitrose.
There are also a range of other wines on special from Aldi for the May Bank Holiday, including their still wines.
A bottle of their Chapter and Verse Chardonnay can be bought for £3.99, or their Pezat Côtes De Provence £7.49 a bottle.
The Chapter and Verse Chardonnay is described to be a “ripe, characterful wine, brimming with flavours”.
It delivers notes of peach, melon and citrus, for a fresh and light tasting wine.
It can also be paired with meals, such as a creamy pasta, spicy seafood, or Asian cuisine, for an 18 per cent discount until tomorrow.
On the other hand, the Côtes de Provence can be bought with a 38 per cent saving this weekend, down from £11. 99.
This bottle provides hints of crushed strawberries, lychees and rhubarb, balanced with a creamy richness and refreshing acidity.
It is said to be “a vibrant dance of crunchy red fruit”, also good for pairing with spring salads or grilled seafood.
When's the best time to shop at Aldi?
WHEN it comes to shopping at Aldi, the best time to do so depends on what you want to buy. For reduced items – when shops open.
Red sticker items are rare at Aldi’s 830 UK stores, but the supermarket says that none of its food goes to waste so there are some to be found – if you’re quick.
A spokesman for the supermarket said: “All items are reduced to 50 per cent of the recommend sales price before stores open on their best before or use by dates.”
That means you have the best chance of finding reduced food items if you go into stores as soon as it opens.
Opening times vary by shop but a majority open from 7am or 8am. You can find your nearest store’s times by using the supermarket’s online shop finder tool.
For Specialbuys – Thursdays and Sundays
Specialbuys are Aldi’s weekly collection of items that it doesn’t normally sell, which can range from pizza ovens to power tools.
New stock comes into stores every Thursday and Sunday, so naturally, these are the best days to visit for the best one-off special deals.
